I have taken to walking to/from work, initially this was maybe a little motivated by the opportunity of not paying for transport, but it's amazing how your view and attitude towards a city changes when you wander through it actually taking in the sites rather than spending all your time on trains and the underground. I found the same thing near the end of last year when I had taken to walking through/around Hyde park to get to work, but that was in winter which made it a significantly less appealing option. I walked through Battersea park yesterday and it's a really nice area. A lot of parks in london are effectively large fields with a few things around the edges but Battersea has lots of little hidden areas and winding paths through the trees... very nice.
Anyway, it's the start of another working day and I better get on with it.
